WHEELHOUSE EXPO
Last October 2017 my studio mates and I were invited by The Wheelhouse to do a small expo during their opening party. Because the building itself has an art deco look, we tried to make a design in the same style. The text is a very common Dutch saying 'It's not a hotel' referring to what our parents used to say. We thought this would be a nice slogan to hang in your house, so therefore Adam Oostenbrink, Christiaan Dros and I handprinted a limited edition of 60 silkscreen posters. After that The Amsterdam Signpainters painted the hotel sign as the central piece of the expo. The rest of the exhibition was an overview of the work our studio produces and a mural in blacklight paint.
The Expo was the first in a series of exhibitions curated by ARTWORKS in collaboration with Wheelhouse Amsterdam. Our expo had a unique selection of DJs from the legendary English Ninja Tune label, because of the Amsterdam Dance Event that was taking place at the same time.
