All covers are published in the 37th edition of DJBroadcast magazine and displayed at the Re-Cover expo at Sid Lee Collective in Amsterdam, Holland, from the 29th of june till the 5th of july 2009.
The album
The album I picked myself is a collaboration album that Carl Craig made with a bunch of other artists. This album got some really deep grooves and is called: The Detroit Experiment.
The roots of the Detroit sound were brought back to the future by DJ/producer Carl Craig, Philadelphia Experiment producer Aaron Luis Levinson, and hip hop producer/ percussionist Karriem Riggins (Slum Village), who together recorded the band over a period of five days at the legendary White Room Studio in downtown Detroit. The result are spellbinding, mind-blowing, and a true testament to the musical legacy of Detroit. Venors is the track i like most and is called after a Michigan-based soft drink that generations of Detroiters have known.
